Acai Berry

Acai berry is a Brazilian fruit, found in the tropical rainforests of Amazon. Recently it has gained world wide reputation as one of nature's most complete and healthy organic food. The berry has a delicious taste which is a bit like wild raspberry with a hint of grape.

Acai Berry: Origin

Acai berries are produced by a special variety of palm tree, the scientific name of which is Euterpe Oleracea. This palm tree is common in flood plain area of Amazon River. When berries are ripe, their color is red or dark purple. These berries have a thin layer of edible pulp around a large seed.

Acai berries have been used since a long time in Brazil. Native people use these berries to treat various digestive complications and skin conditions.
